England Amputee's first World Cup success was in 1998 when they came back from 3-0 down at half-time to beat El Salvador 4-3 (after extra time). The following year they beat Brazil 3-2, again after extra time and then made it three on the bounce in 1990.

In more recent years (2005) the team finished 3rd
(again in Rio), to cement their place as one of the top Amputee sides in the World.
